Our Bearded Bleepers metal detecting exhibit is now open at Shere Museum, and we’d love you to come and see it in person.
The display features a selection of our favourite finds discovered across Surrey, along with information about our detecting adventures and videos showing some of the finds as they were unearthed. Even better, the exhibit will be updated regularly as we continue uncovering more of Surrey’s buried history, so there’s always something new to see.
Museum Opening Times
Shere Museum is open 2–5pm on Saturdays and Sundays, making it the perfect weekend visit.
Make a Day of It in Shere
A visit to the museum is just one reason to spend time in Shere, one of Surrey’s most beautiful medieval villages. With its charming wood-framed buildings, winding lanes and picturesque setting in the Surrey Hills, it feels like stepping back in time.
- Independent shops and local boutiques
- Cosy cafés and traditional tea rooms
- Beautiful countryside walks straight from the village
- Historic architecture and postcard-perfect views
And if you fancy a proper traditional pub experience, you won’t want to miss The White Horse. With its open fires, wooden beams and centuries of character, it’s the perfect place to relax after exploring. They serve excellent local ales, including Shere Drop from Surrey Hills Brewery, alongside a great selection of food and drinks.
Whether you’re passionate about local history, curious about metal detecting, or simply looking for a lovely weekend outing, Shere makes for a fantastic day out.
We hope to see you at Shere Museum soon, and don’t forget to check out the Bearded Bleepers exhibit while you’re there!
